sic crust recipe (recipe to follow)
1 ½ onions, finely chopped
55g (60ml) butter
400g fresh asparagus, cut in ½ “ pieces (keep 5/6 whole for the top to decorate)
500ml grated Sassy Sweetmilk or Fox and Crow
2 eggs, beaten
250ml sour cream
Make dough for crust, roll out on floured surface and press into 30cm tart pan with removable base Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Saute onions in butter until soft. Mix onions with all the other ingredients and pour into prepared base. Decorate with remaining whole asparagus and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Cool and serve with salad, fresh baguette and Greendale brie or cambozola for a complete meal.
250ml (1 cup) all purpose flour
7.5ml baking powder
pinch of salt
50ml sunflower /olive oil
Place all ingredients in food processor and pulse until the dough has come together. Remove and knead lightly. Place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
